Power up support kit for liquid cooled and air cooled DC DC converters
Description
Tame-Power developed the Starter Kit which aims to facilitate all DC DC converters ranges start up and power up:
- Non-isolated liquid-cooled DC DC HVHV converters from 1kW to 136 kW
- Non-isolated air-cooled DC DC HVHV converters from 1kW to 32 kW
- Isolated liquid-cooled DC DC HVLV converters from 1kW to 68 kW
The Starter Kit aims to expedite Tame-Power DC DC converters power up thanks to its dedicated content: Tame-Power HMI, CAN communication probe, PEAK CAN driver software, communication and power cables.
The Starter Kit is available in two versions according to DC DC converters cooling system: Starter Kit for liquid cooled DC DC converters and Starter Kit for air cooled DC DC converters which are adapted to DC DC converters cooling type they accompany.

Starter Kit technical specifications
The Starter Kit, either being dedicated to Tame-Power liquid cooled DC DC converters or Tame-Power air cooled DC DC converters, allows DC DC converters monitoring through direct PC and power source connection. Moreover, Tame-Power HMI -which is provided with Starter Kit- proposes an easy handling use interface giving access to DC to DC converters main functions.
The Starter Kit contains:
- Tame-Power HMI software
- CAN PEAK probe: PEAK IPEH-002021
- PEAK driver software for PC: CD or internet
- Power and communication cable: adapted to liquid or air cooling systems
Tame-Power HMI software
Tame-Power HMI software allows user to:
- Consult measures sent by DCDC on CAN network which are displayed in Information area (green box).
- Access to settings of the DCDC converter which are displayed in the orange green box.
- Control the converter using the blue box enable mode and type of regulation, starting and stopping the converter, resetting errors or modifying accessible parameters.
- Consult messages, warnings, and errors produced by the converter which are displayed in the red box.
- Access to the user manual through the HMI.
PEAK CAN probe
- USB connection to PC: Full-Speed mode, compliant with USB 1.1, USB 2.0, and USB 3.0.
- Galvanic isolation of up to 500 Volts between PC and CAN side.
- Compliant with CAN specifications 2.0A (11-bit ID) and 2.0B (29-bit ID).
- CAN bus connection via D-Sub, 9-pin (in accordance with CiA® 303-1.

- Connection to power supply: 4 mm banana plugs.
- Connection to Converter: Phoenix M12.
- Connection to PEAK Probe: DB9 (male).
- Cable length: 3000 mm.
- Cable diameter: 6.5 mm.
- DCDC power supply: 10V to 32V, 2 A.
Starter Kit – For air cooled DC DC converters range
- Connection to power supply: 4 mm banana plugs.
- Connection to Converter: Phoenix M12.
- Connection to PEAK Probe: DB15 (male).
- Cable length: 3000 mm.
- Cable diameter: 6.5 mm.
- DCDC power supply: 12 or 24V, 2 A.
